April 2012 Junior Belt Test

Congratulations to Grand Master Pius

2011 Taekwondo Hall of Fame Recipient!

tkdhalloffame1On August 25, 2011, history was made for Grand Master Pius and Master Pius Martial Arts. With over four decades of knowledge, skill and experience in the art of taekwondo, Master Pius was respectfully and warmly inducted into the Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame Ceremony was held at the Kukkiwon World Taekwondo Headquarters in Seoul, Korea. Less than 70 seasoned Black Belts from across the world were invited into the Hall of Fame—an amazing feat considering the impression that Taekwondo has continued to leave across the globe.

Though the induction ceremony was held on the evening of August 25, the festivities didn't stop there. During one full week, Grand Master Pius and his fellow inductees were honored with the time and the space to train and spar with each other. This allowed all of these disciplined Black Belts to hone their own skills as well as learn new ones. It was the ultimate opportunity to share and expand knowledge in the birthplace of taekwondo.

The students at Master Pius Martial Arts are very proud of Grand Master Pius, and as a testament to his love and faith for taekwondo, we continue to harness our own joy for the sport and the art that was born in Korea, nurtured throughout Asia, and currently upheld in countries throughout the world.

2011 Atlanta Open Taekwondo Championships A Success!

494Hosted by Grand Master Pius and Master Pius Martial Arts, the third annual Atlanta Open Taekwondo Championships was held at the Atlanta International School in Atlanta, Georgia.  Over 250 competitors registered online, and many more arrived at the door.  From the early morning weigh-ins to the last Black Belt match of the evening, excitement and determination drove all of the participants eagerly through the events.

The tournament began with the playing of the American and Korean National anthems, after which the Forms division began with all Black Belt competitors.  Adrenaline was riding high as schools from across the United States and all over the world displayed their poomsae and prepared their breaking techniques, the second event of the day.  By the time sparring started in mid afternoon, spirit was at its peak.
